Brown bead shade is made from tiny (3mm diameter) round beads strung on hair thin metal wire and wrapped on a metal frame, custom made for a specific size, by 1/8" diameter metal rods welded togather, as shown in pictures. Unlike cotton string, metal wire will not snap or break by repeated handling of the shade. A ring with lip is welded in the frame at 1" below top. Ring diameter is 2 mm larger than glass hurricane's top rim. Priced and sols as a set of 2.
