White marble table tops with semi precious stones inlaid in various floral & geometric paterns. White marble is translucent and when lighted from under, these patterns can be seen as silhouettes. As many as 50 different pieces of semi precious stones are used to create just one flower. Notice that there is a hairline gap between petals in some cases and none in other. This much attension to detail takes several hours to make one flower. Number of stones inlaid can run over thousands of pieces and yet the top surface is as smooth as glass. One can't feel any unevenness on the surface by running the hand over it. This is the mastery of artisans, unique to Agra region of India, whose ancestors created inlay work on Taj Mahal some 350 years ago.
